|The Operational Zone of the Adriatic Littoral (OZAK) was a Nazi German puppet district on the northern Adriatic coast created on 10
September 1943 as a response to the Italian capitulation (8 September) following the Allied invasion of Italy. It comprised the provinces
of Udine, Gorizia, Trieste, Pula, Rijeka and Ljubljana. Leon Rupnik served as the president of the Provincial Government of the
Nazi-occupied Province of Ljubljana from November 1943 to early May 1945. The Province of Ljubljana was abolished on May 9, 1945
when the Yugoslav partizans liberated it from Nazi occupation.
